Stavrakas (Σταύρακας), whose puppet is the only one with a long independent arm, like Karagiozis. He represents the " mangas " culture prevalent in Piraeus and the Rebetiko tradition. Although trying to bully the others, Karagiozis usually teases him.

Karaghiozi was the main character of Greece's traditional shadow puppet play. The white sheet and lamp of the song's chorus refer to the sheet and lamp used to create the shadows, for this pre-cinema traveling carnival-type show. The character of Karaghiozi was the Greek everyman, a sort of Charlie Chaplin or Ralph Kramden comedic hero.

Karagiozis or Karaghiozis (Greek Καραγκιόζης, from Turkish Karagöz) is a shadow puppet and fictional character of Greek folklore derived from the Ottoman Turkish Karagöz. He is the main character of the tales narrated in the Greek shadow-puppet theatre. Karagöz in Turkish means 'black-eye', and it is the origin of this character's name.
